ReplyDeleteI saw someone this afternoon ringing doorbells in my neighbourhood that fits Owen's description. He got into a small red pick up truck on the driver's side. There was a large freezer strapped down in the bed of the truck. Took up the whole bed. He didn't have anything in his hands (i.e. dreamcatchers), and I didn't get to the door in time to answer so I don't know what he was up to. The only difference in description was a pair of glasses he was wearing. Other than that, he fits it identically.
ReplyDeleteI contacted my local crimestoppers to report the sighting and I will drive around my neighbourhood to see if I can catch up with this vehicle and check it out myself. I'll keep you posted.

ReplyDeleteI drove around but the truck was gone from the area. I'm in North Nanaimo, near Woodgrove Mall. A few weeks back I was at my mom's just a few streets down when a young girl knocked on the door to sell dream catchers. She claimed she was an international student here from New York. It all seemed very strange. I hope that helps?

ReplyDeleteAre there any railroad tracks near the hospital? What destinations would freight trains have had at the time of his disappearance?
Border 3km away small post, rivers, railway etc. We did a run over the border in the early days.Down to Republic across to Spokane and Back up Christina Lake Border post have emailed papers over there. Aus Federal Police and now RCMP have contacted USA. Thanks for the comment its abig job so we appreciate your help!!!

ReplyDeleteI was wondering about surveillance video at major concert events. If you obtain any or if you set your own camera up, perhaps you could mark off a height of 5'9" and that would allow rapid screening of males whose appearance may have changed in the interim.

Sounds good, tho i am technologically challenged and major events usually have very limited to no access because of corporate contracts re advertising admission etc. we did look into Hockey games
ReplyDeleteI live in Kitimat B.C. a few days before Christmas around supper time, a guy with an australian accent came a my door selling dream catchers. He was very polite and fit the description. I asked the people next door and he went there also, again he was very polite. Another person was with him but across the street so I do not have a good description of that person. As a few weeks have past they are probably not in the area anymore. I just wanted to let you know that I think it was him. I do not want to give false hope, after reading this I just needed to tell you what I have seen. Hope you find your son, so sorry.

ReplyDeleteI just read the story on Owen, and it sounds like he may have been in the early stages of drug induced schizophrenia when he vanished. I dont know if you have thought of this scenario or if it helps, but reading his story reminded me of my brother when he first became ill with the same symtoms. If im right his appearance may of changed he may be wearing a beard now, lost weight and his expression on his face will be different. I hope any of this helps...wishing you good luck in finding him...Nick
ReplyDeleteHi Nick.... We have definitely thought of this, and it is a possibility. So where might he go under these circumstances and how functional would he be. We have tried to reach the Mental health services in BC but it has been very difficult.Lucky he still has his tattoos, I never thought, as a mother, I would say that. Thanks so much for your input.
ReplyDeleteHe would be quite functional,though he would be withdraw and suspisious of people if he saw all the media attention about him, he could quite possible see that as a negative thing and hide away from the spotlight (which sounds like what might be happening with your boy) you might try asking around some of the tattoo parlours too if you havn`t done so yet, as I know my brother has a growing interest in tattoo`s as a way of expressing himself ( just keep in mind that if he do`s have schizophrenia he will not be the same boy when you meet him) ... if i think of anything else that might help I`ll let you know..
